10 on 10- November

I had big plans for this month’s photo post. The month of October proved to be super fruitful with several friends visiting, resulting in many pictures being taken. But then… I heard about the Night Noodle Markets. And the opening night of this glorious event was today, November 10th.

I realised (see what I did there?) that my friends’ visits deserve their own posts, possibly even their own albums on facebook. At some point. But the Night Noodle Markets? That was worthy of a 10 on 10 blog post. Taking a much needed break after work today, and before I started writing more report card comments, I strolled down the road, crossed the river, and found myself here.

Avoiding the crowds meant going as soon as the event opened and I actually brought a tupperware container to save what my small appetite couldn’t eat for my lunch tomorrow. I am such a winner. Not to mention this is a 20 minute walk from my house. Melbourne, I swoon.

10 on 10- October

October is the month of visitors and I could not be more pleased! I lived in South Korea for 7 years and barely got my parents to visit (BUT THEY DID). I have lived in Melbourne for 3 months and I already have a list of people coming to see me. All about location, I see.

It was hard to narrow this down to 10, but here are some of my favs from when my dear friend Lydia and her husband DJ came to visit from Sydney last weekend. They took me on a whirlwind tour of eating delicious food (these photos show the brief stops we made in between eating, haha). I was so blessed by how well DJ did his research and his decisiveness in ordering food.

I am slowly falling in love with this city.

I am also super proud of myself for posting these photos ON THE 10TH.

10 on 10- September

I should just start calling this 11 on 11th. Only I have 10 photos so it’s going to stay 10. I will, I will try very hard to post this on the correct date of the month in October. I can do it— fighting!

Yesterday, on the 10th I went to the South Melbourne Market, a mer 15 minute walk from my apartment, to shop for my housewarming party. Heeeeyo. I decided to grab my camera, something I haven’t done in a while, and snapped shots of one of my favorite places in Melbourne.

10 on 10 Project, I have not failed you.

Tomorrow is September 10th. I missed posting pictures on June 10th, July 10th, and August 10th. I will not fail in September, and yet if I do forget or don’t have time because there are other important things on my mind, that’s okay too. Part of me is ready to drop the 10 on 10 project for the rest of 2016 and start up fresh in 2017. But “starting fresh” or having pictures to document every single month isn’t what the project is about for me. It’s having archived memories to look back on and see my life and my photography, two things I love very much.

10 on 10- May

How does this happen every other month? The 10th goes by and I think, “Hey, it’s the 10th!” and yet I don’t remember to post my 10 photos… and this month the date was especially noticed because one of my longest, dearest friend celebrates her birthday on May 10 (Happy Birthday April!).

In my defense, it is still the 10th in ‘Merrrica.

My 10 photos were taken in the middle of April on a day when the blossoms were in their last hurrah. This is my final Cherry Blossom season in Korea and I had to make the most of it. One of my roommates, Alyssa, came along and joined me for my mini photo shoot near the Yangjae Flower Market (a week before I saw the line of trees from the window of a taxi and had to go back!).

And because I love bonus pictures here is just one more. This is a picture of my students taking minutes to rip up the tape that took me hours to place around the room. Our map and transportation units are officially oooooover.

Happy May everyone! It is the best month, after all.

10 on 10- April

The closer June comes, the more I start to think about all the places I went to but didn’t snap enough pictures (I know right, me? Not take pictures? It happens…). This months 10 on 10 is a little bit of this and a little bit of that, half of the pictures other people took for me, so my face is actually in this monthly post much more than usual.

For starters, my friend Allison made deep fried deviled eggs. They had to be photographed.

Can someone say delicious? Okay, I will. DELICIOUS! After eating that yumminess I also celebrated my girl, Michelle’s, 30th BIRTHDAY! She blogs over at Gold Dust & Glitter, check her out.

I finally got the change to go to Yangjae Flower Market (at 7:30 in the morning on a Saturday— not for the faint of heart my friend). After that I checked out cherry blossoms (and did a photo shoot that you will hear ALL ABOUT later) and went to a palace. This all happened yesterday on April 9th, so these pictures just make the cut (phew).

Super proud of myself for remembering to post these on the 10th. Anyone want to give me a pat on the back? Fine. I will do it myself.

10 on 10- February

I have another blog post in drafts. That happens a lot. It’s about my trip to the Philippines and I plan to finish it. But it’s the 10th! And we know what that means. The 10 pictures I am posting this month were taken on a random Saturday (two weeks ago?). My weekends tend to be a bit full because I have so many loves to hang out with and things to do. This particular Saturday started with a shopping trip to Costco alongside my roommies. After which I headed to Seoul to have lunch and tea with the lovely Tinè, and finished the day spending the evening with the Bongiovannis (who hosted!), Egbert and Diana. We ate chili and brownies and I watched my first episode of Fixer Upper. Riveting details, I know. That’s why there are pictures!

I really need to get a new lens, this ones getting finicky and I am sad that the pic of the Bongos is blurry 😦

And that’s how all brownies should be eaten.

Make sure to check out my cousin’s 10 on 10, and April’s (love that you are doing this too). In fact, everyone should do a 10 on 10!
